Anton Califano is a London-based filmmaker and editor with over 20 year's filmmaking experience.Anton started out in the film industry as a trainee editor in 35mm cutting rooms after graduating with a BA (Hons) degree in Film & Television Production from London Guildhall University. Anton's graduation film "Flat", a comedy, won the First Director's Award at the Birmingham International Film Festival. Alongside an editing career which includes cutting award-winning independent films and broadcast documentaries, Anton has continued to produce and direct documentary and fiction films of his own. In 1996 Anton co-produced the Art House feature film "To Anyone Who Can Hear Me" which won the Grand Prix and International Press Jury Prize at the Figueira de Foz International Film Festival, Portugal 1999 as well as being selected in competition for the prestigious Taormina Film Festival, Italy. For the last ten years, Anton has been the Executive Producer on the Eastern Edge Film Fund, which has funded over 20 short films made by new/emerging talent. Many of the films have won film festival awards and prestigious industry prizes.Anton's more recent documentary work focuses on cultural identity, justice, and social equality.
